Stellar product!

I wanted to reach out to you and commend you for a stellar product! I purchased the Mini Diktator over a year ago and it has easily tripled my production. The only thing that I would venture to ask for in future models would be a longer travel in the hydraulic arm, simply because I use a variety of belts (some that stretch more than others), and need to adjust the tension often

Great Belt Grinder

I recently bought the mini diktator for knife making an f 1 hp motor with VFD. After running this motor I found out that 1 hp motor with VFD wasn't powerful enough to do what I needed it to do, so I sent it back purchased their 2 hp motor with VFD. This motor and VFD combo was the perfect combo for knife making. During the exchange process diktator customer service was great. Their turn around time receiving and turning around to get me my new motor and VFD combo was fast. What I also like is that they carry all the accessories that I need for my belt grinder, so I will definitely be buying from them in the near future. Again great and fast customer service. You won't go wrong from buying from them.

Awesome machine!

This grinder is a fantastic piece of shop equipment. It’s well built with rugged 1/4 inch plate. Quality fasteners all around. A big plus for the gas tensioner arm very nice touch. Makes for quick belt changes and constant pressure. The tracking controls are very sensitive and responsive. Everything lined up and was easy to assemble. I really liked having to assemble the machine as well. It gives you a solid knowledge of the machine right out the gate. I can’t wait to start getting different accessories for it to make this machine even better. I’ve used a couple of other American made modern belt grinders in this vein and it’s by far the best. I can’t recommend this enough. Thank you for making a stellar product.

I have been using the Max for 4 months now and it is amazing. With the toobinator next to it with additional jigs, I have cut my work time down dramatically. I also have your surface grinder that I bought for the Toobinator a couple of year back. The surface grinder on the Max in the horizontal position is much nicer to use and easier for an old guy like me. I have been woodworking my whole life, blacksmithing for 25 years and bladesmithing for the last six or so. Your Max is probably the nicest piece of shop machinery I have ever owned. I am looking forward to what you come out with next.

Great kit, great support!

This was a fun build, though it did require some modifications to the motor bracket to get the motor mounted. The set screw for the drive wheel was missing, but I just ordered some for a few dollars, no big deal. The assembly manual is good overall, though not everything I purchased came with assembly instructions. Steve was super helpful and responsive to my questions, I can recommend Diktator.

I started making knives a few years ago and bought my grinder. For my first grinder, it's great. The first thing I did was to round the back of the tool rest so I can swing it out of the way without removing it all the time. I put a carriage bolt with a wing nut (wing nut on top) to make it a lot easier to deal with. After a LOT of hours of use I needed to replace the motor. I made the choice to go to a variable speed motor - I wish I would have spent the coupe of extra dollars right out of the gate for that option. Now I have eliminated hours of hand work. Since the beginning I've upgraded my forge, anvil, hammers, and other things but I still have my Mini Diktator.

Exceeded my expectations

Purchased this motor and VFD with a Diktator XS kit grinder. Very satisfied with the whole purchase. I'm not a total novice with belt grinders and not a novice at all with machinery. This is a really good machine. The motor is very quiet and the wiring job very clean. The VFD works well and is a good pairing for the motor. I have a very wide range of speeds. The Diktator XS kit grinder itself is pretty amazing. Parts precisely cut and drilled. The steel parts are nice and thick. Hardware well packaged. Great instruction video but it's extremely simple to assemble. I honestly didn't feel like it was a diy kit. In 2 hours I had it running and tracking well. They mount the wheels on the D plate for you so they're already spaced properly which is a time saver. The only adjustment I had to do was setting the drive wheel spacing. Very pleased. I was grinding out blades within 3 hours of opening the box. True story.

I have been a knifemaker for 30 yrs. Have a K & G grinder, a Bader 3, and this one matches up at a better price point. Best instructions to assemble I have ever seen (brilliant the way he has laid out a pouch belt that holds bolts etc in pouches for each step to assemble). What a breeze. Amazed me after completing the assembly it needed no adjustments. Smooth running. Easy to tilt. Don't hesitate if you are hunting for a tilt grinder. And no, not related and never spoken to him.
