Choosing Between 110V and 220V for your Motor
When ordering an electric motor package from Diktator Grinders, you’ll be able to choose either a 110V or 220V setup depending on your shop’s power availability and your performance needs. Understanding the difference between these options is key to getting the best setup for your grinder.
Voltage Options at a Glance
✔️ 110V Setup (Most Popular – Plug & Play)
Ideal for most users — 90% of our customers use a 110V setup.
Your Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) will come prewired for 110 volts, and it will output 220 volts to the motor.
We include a standard 110V plug ready to plug into a regular 15 AMP household (non-GFCI) outlet.
No special wiring or circuits needed.
✔️ 220V Setup (Higher Efficiency Option)
Best if you have access to a 220V power source and want added efficiency or reduced amp draw.
Your VFD will come prewired for 220 volts, supplying 220 volts directly to the motor.
You must supply your own 220V plug — we do not include one because of the variety of 220V plug styles on the market.
Motor Package Compatibility
Package Motor VFD Voltage Options
#1 1.5 HP No VFD 110V only
#2 1.0 HP With VFD 110V or 220V
#3 2.0 HP With VFD 110V or 220V
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can I switch my VFD from 110V to 220V (or vice versa)?
A: Yes, but it must be done by a licensed electrician. Incorrect wiring can damage the VFD and void your warranty.
Q: How do I know what voltage my VFD is wired for?
A: Check the plug:
If it has a standard 110V plug, it's wired for 110V.
If no plug is included, it's prewired for 220V, and you'll need to add your own plug.
