Power Requirements and Current Draw for Diktator Grinder Motors
All electric motor packages sold by Diktator Grinders—whether with or without a Variable Frequency Drive (VFD)—are designed with your home workshop in mind. That means no special electrical setup is needed to get up and running.
Standard 110V Compatibility
Every motor we sell is compatible with a standard 110-volt, 15-amp household outlet (non-GFCI). Whether you're purchasing a 1 HP, 1.5 HP, or 2 HP motor, all units are designed to remain within the safe operating limits of regular shop power. This makes setup easy and avoids the need for expensive electrical upgrades.
Voltage: 110V (standard)
Amperage: Less than 15 amps
Outlet Type: Standard 15A (non-GFCI) wall socket
Plug Type: Pre-wired for plug-and-play use (on applicable models)
⚠️ Important Note: GFCI outlets may trip unnecessarily when used with motors or VFDs due to how these devices manage current. For best results, plug your motor into a non-GFCI outlet.
220V Usage
If you plan to run your motor at 220V, most of our VFD-equipped motors can also be rewired for higher voltage operation, often resulting in slightly lower amperage draw and increased efficiency. Detailed instructions for 220V conversion are included with compatible products.
